Hocheppan Castle

Hocheppan Castle is one of the most important fortresses in South Tyrol. It is located in the northern part of the municipality of Appiano (Eppan)  and can be reached directly from Andriano via hiking trail no. 2.

In the courtyard of the castle, there is the castle chapel with its beautiful Romanesque frescoes, also called the “Sistine Chapel of the Alps”. The castle is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. (closed on Wednesdays).

Hocheppan castle tavern: The restaurant menu includes a variety of dumplings, served outside in a medieval ambience.  The tavern is open from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. every day, except on Wednesdays.
