Hocheppan Castle

Hocheppan Castle is one of the most important fortresses in South Tyrol. It is located in the Missiano part of the municipality of Appiano and can be reached directly from Andriano via hiking trail no. 2.

In the courtyard there is a castle chapel, also called the “Sistine Chapel of the Alps” with beautiful Romanesque frescoes. The castle is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. (closed on Wednesdays).

Hocheppan castle tavern: The restaurant menu includes a variety of dumplings, served outside in a medieval ambience.  The tavern is open from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. every day, except on Wednesdays. Evenings on request. Anni, the landlady, will take your reservation requests on: +39 333 6698212
