The Lakes of Monticolo

The two lakes are located in the municipality of Appiano in two hollows carved out by ice-age glaciers. Both the large and the small Lake Monticolo are popular destinations for residents and holiday guests alike.
At the large Lake Monticolo, there is a public swimming area called “Lido” with a large lawn area for sunbathing and a jetty. The small Lake Monticolo is a calmer place. Here you will find a little snack station and a lawn for sunbathing. The two lakes are connected by beautiful forest trails. You can come here by mountain bike as well.
