Near the village there is a beautiful piece of woodland characterised by a proliferation of yew trees. Because of its importance for the landscape and local recreation it is a designated landscape conservation area.

The only forest in Val d’Adige between Bolzano and Merano. The lime-rich, permeable soil is particularly loved by yew trees, which are otherwise on the verge of extinction in Europe.
